Hurricane Server

Our default sending server will now be Socketlab’s Hurricane server.

It’s an advanced piece of software that changes the way in which outgoing and incoming messages are dealt with.

Hurricane Server was designed for speed and can continuously handle simultaneous input and output of over one million messages per hour. Hurricane Server's storage and indexing system uses a mixture of disk and memory based storage. Despite its incredible speed Hurricane Server shadows any in memory storage to disk and is therefore non volatile.

Outgoing messages are processed at a speed of up to 1 million per hour, as it’s so powerful it has built in throttle controls so that we don’t overload any one ISP with too many emails per minute (this is a sure fire way to get blacklisted).

Hurricane Server's automatic bounce handling uses VERP (Variable Envelope Return Path) to encode the return path of outbound messages. This ensures that bounces automatically flow directly back to Hurricane Server. Our encoding process embeds message identifiers into the return path so that any message id or mailing/campaign id you have tagged the message with, remains with the message even through a bounce. When Hurricane Server receives a bounced message it is immediately analysed, and the results can be studied in the Hurricane Server reports and logs. Last but certainly not least, the bounced message, results of the analysis, and custom identifiers are passed to the back end event driven API which we can easily update your databases in real time with.

Hurricane Server has many controls and built in processes to maximize your deliverability. Automatic domain level delivery rules, support for authentication standards such as DomainKey/DKIM and Sender Id/SPF, and automatic greylisting optimisation are just some of the ways Hurricane Server increases your deliverability. Various system reports enable us to monitor the status of your mailings and quickly pinpoint specific deliverability problems which you can then remedy.

Regulatory compliance departments have made auditing and archival a must for many organisations. Hurricane Server's extensive logging automatically keeps an audit trail of all processing, couple that with our log files held at a server level and every historic event can be queried and reported on.
