The University of Manchester Sustainable Consumption Institute
We were approached by Pall Mall, an independent communications consultancy to help them coordinate an email campaign to promote a conference for The University of Manchester Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI).
Pall Mall Consult has vast experience and expertise in marketing and business development, public policy and government relations and in PR and media relations.
The challenge
To design and send out an email invitation to promoteĀ a conference on the important role of consumers and business in tackling climate change. The conference also marks the official launch of the Institute.
We were also briefed to create a microsite to allow people to register their attendance through an online RSVP form and find out more about the conference itself.
We were given brand guidelines for the Institute and asked to ensure that the email design and microsite incorporated the main elements of their brand identity.
The response
Our email and microsite design uses lots of white space and natural imagery which is essential in conveying a clean, crisp visual appearance. It underpins the primary aim of promoting sustainable consumption.
The Abstracts ReportMail team provided a managed service for the email campaign to ensure everything went smoothly.
The email invitation pulled a very positive response and after only a few hours achieved a click through rate of 12% and a conversion rate of over 5%!
